The Race Is On

Not since last year’s historic presidential race has an election been watched with such anticipation and suspense. No, we’re not talking about the race for Nassau county executive! We’re talking about one of the hottest races in the five-year history of the Long Island Press’ Best of L. I. competition: Best Long Island Personality.

Voting!

Any person with access to a computer, laptop or cell phone may vote—it’s as simple as that. Vote in one category or vote in them all. Start now, finish later—With 30 new titles to vote on, we understand. But you can only vote once per device or IP address, so make it count. After all, it is YOUR nominations and votes that allow us to name the very best that Long Island has to offer year after year.

Vote For Us!

We’ve all heard the line “Just to be nominated is an honor,” and in this case it really is. This year’s Best of L.I. finalists were chosen from a record-breaking pool of nominees. Only the top made it to the final round, and now they’re flaunting it.

Panera Bread made flyers. Levittown Lanes has it on their scoreboard. Iavarone Brothers has it printed on their shirts. The best of the best are out there campaigning for your votes, and this year the race is so close, the nominees are getting more creative than ever. Can you blame them?

The Best of the Best 2009

Tens of thousands of people voted in our Best of Long Island 2009 competition, and in all, we handed out more than 500 awards in 175 categories.
