New York Islanders Owner
It’s still a waiting game for Charles Wang and the Islanders. Though his Lighthouse Project has all but officially been declared dead, he is negotiating with Nassau County to build a publicly funded sports-entertainment complex at the site of the dilapidated Nassau Coliseum. He is seeking $400 million from the county for the project before the Isles’ lease expires in 2015. If there isn’t a new arena by then, it’s safe to assume they’ll move. But for now, Wang remains one of LI’s true power players.
