Town of Hempstead Supervisor
After 367 years in Hempstead history, the timing was right when Murray broke through Hempstead’s glass ceiling in 2003 to become the first woman supervisor of the most populous township in America. And she’s been making the power plays ever since. She may not have taken a hockey stick to Wang’s enormous Lighthouse Project, but she did whittle it down to a more manageable size and helped produce a new Nassau Coliseum deal.
