The driver was indicted on charges of manslaughter, vehicular manslaughter, leaving the scene of a fatal accident, driving while impaired by drugs and other counts.
For Long Islanders, it is an all-too-familiar scenario. A storm hits, trees topple and the lights go off. But it is too easy to place the blame solely on PSEG Long Island because this problem started long before they took over the grid.
"New Yorkers in any of the worst hit areas should be careful if they must leave home,” the governor said.
The goal is to both revive the shellfish industry and naturally cleanse the bay of pollution.
