A 34-year-old Levittown woman employed as a teachers’ aide at the Henry Vicardi School for students with disabilities in Albertson has been accused of sexting a student over the past five months.

Nassau County police arrested Ivone Oliviera on Thursday and charged her with endangering the welfare of a disabled person.

Oliviera “engaged in an inappropriate relationship” with the victim beginning in January, when she “displayed inappropriate physical contact with the victim such as hugging and kissing,” police said in a news release.

Third Squad detectives alleged that she had also sent the victim “text messages and photos from her phone which was of a sexual manner.”

She will be arraigned Friday at First District Court in Hempstead.

The case is marks the seventh time this year a Long Island school teacher or administrator has been arrested for allegedly behaving inappropriately around students.

The cab driver was a retired law enforcement officer.

A retired law enforcement officer now working as a cab driver shot a Levittown man who allegedly assaulted him outside his cab Wednesday night, Nassau County police said.

Detectives said the 66-year-old driver ended up in an empty lot on 17th Street in Jericho just before 10 p.m. when the customer, 41-year-old Donald Canham, gave the driver the wrong directions to a residence in Hicksville.

Canham asked the driver how much money he had and then told him to pull over into the empty lot, police said.

The retired law enforcement officer feared he was going to be robbed and pulled the cab to the curb, police said, identified himself and ordered Canham out of the cab.

When the driver exited the car to call 911, Canham allegedly charged him and struck him with an unknown object, police said. The driver then pulled out his licensed handgun and ordered Canham not to move, but was charged at again, “forcing the victim to fire his weapon striking the defendant in the leg,” police said in a news release.

Canham and the unidentified cab driver were taken to a local hospital for treatment—the driver with a head injury, and Canham with a non-life-threatening injury from the gunshot wound, police said.

Canham was charged with assault and will be arraigned when he’s healthy enough to do so, police said.

Levittown man reportedly had help bringing the generator home during the post-superstorm blackouts.

An MTA worker from Levittown is reportedly paying the consequences for allegedly taking home a generator amid the Hurricane Sandy blackout that consumed most of Long Island.

Gregory Lombardi was demoted from assistant chief mechanical officer to supervisor and had his salary slashed in half after the Metropolitan Transit Authority investigated the incident, the New York Daily News reported, citing unnamed sources.

A spokesman for the agency would only confirm that Lombardi was demoted sometime last week.

Lombardi’s $165,000 salary was knocked down to $83,000 a year following the investigation, and two other workers who helped him also faced disciplinary actions, according to the report.

The two unnamed transit workers helped Lombardi load the MTA’s generator onto a truck before Lombardi transported it home, the paper reported.

Another Long Islander, Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s emergency management chief, got the ax last year after it came to light that he instructed government workers to clear a tree from his Suffolk County home after Sandy.
