Floral Park-Bellerose Elementary School District
The Floral Park-Bellerose Elementary School District budget of $26,395,722, which carries a budget-to-budget increase of 5.33 percent and a projected tax levy increase of 2.80 percent, passed 921 to 630. Residents also passed Sewanhaka’s budget by a vote of 852 to 634.
Trustees David Fowler (1,100 votes) and Laura Ferone (1,145 votes) were elected to the school board. Further, the bus transportation eligibility proposition, which amends the fifth and sixth grade eligibility for bus transportation from the current one-mile limitation to one-half mile, also passed by a vote of 893 to 611.
Sewanhaka Central High School District
The Sewanhaka Central High School District budget of $150,667,035, which carries a budget-to-budget increase of 1.84 percent and a tax levy increase of 3.44 percent, passed 3,648 to 2,461.
Elmont School District
The Elmont School District budget of $71,226,777, which carries with it a budget-to-budget increase of 3.3 percent and a tax levy increase of 2.3 percent, passed by a vote of 950 to 678. District residents also passed Sewanhaka’s budget by a vote of 828 to 670. Further, the library budget passed by a vote of 942 to 532.
Incumbent Trustee Frank Ragona (1,183 votes) and newcomer Patrick Emeagwali (945 votes), who ran unopposed, were elected to the school board.
