Garden City Park Civic Community Yard Sale and Flea Market
The Garden City Park Civic Association will hold a Community Yard Sale and Flea Market (rain date May 31) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Garden City Park Elementary School, 51 Central Avenue, Garden City Park. Admission is free.
Williston Park Cleanup Day-Rescheduled
Due to the miserable weather, the Williston Park Cleanup Day has been rescheduled for 9 a.m. today at Williston Park Village Hall, 494 Willis Avenue, Williston Park. The Town of North Hempstead, through the efforts of Councilman Angelo Ferrara will supply the shirts, gloves and garbage bags. Volunteers are urged to attend to keep Williston Park clean.
Herricks Community Fund Carnival
The Herricks Community Fund Carnival will continue, starting at noon and running until 10 p.m. in the parking lot of the Herricks Community Center, 999 Herricks Road, New Hyde Park.

Dance to the Music of John Connors and Irish Express
The Irish American Society of Nassau, Suffolk and Queens, Inc., 297 Willis Avenue, Mineola, will hold a dance featuring the John Connors Irish Express. Start time is 8:30 p.m. Donation is $15. MADD to Hold Third Annual Walk
MADD (Mother’s Against Drunk Driving will hold its Third Annual Walk at Farmingdale State College, 2350 Broadhollow Road, Farmingdale. Registration is at 9 a.m. and the walk to start at 10 a.m.
SCOPE Spring Trip
To Gurney’s Inn and Gosman’s Dock. The bus will leave from the Herricks Community Center parking field, 999 Herricks Road, New Hyde Park at 9 a.m. A leisurely drive through the fabulous Hamptons leads the group to the newly renovated Gurney’s Inn where there will be a guided tour of the beautiful seaside resort in Montauk. A full-course luncheon offers a choice of chicken, beef or fish. Specify choice at registration. There will be a stop at Gosman’s Dock for browsing and shopping. Bavarian Festival, 35th Annual at Plattdeutsche Park
The 35th Long Island Bavarian Festival will be held at Plattdeutsche Park, 1132 Hempstead Turnpike, Franklin Square, rain or shine and again on June 14.
