The Long Island Roadrunners Running Club started its 33rd year of running at Eisenhower Park, Wednesday, May 6 with a 5K race.
The first race began with a salute to US troops with the 1st Marine Corps Honor Guard, headquartered on Stewart Avenue in Garden City, showing and posting the colors and Lawrence Murphy singing The Star Spangled Banner. Racing continues until Aug. 26 and starts at 7 p.m. Visit www.lirrc.org for more information. Runners of all abilities welcome.
