And The Beat Goes On – 38 in a row! Although we’re now playing multiple games due to the increased enrollment, the parents lost both ends of a double-header on this, our final week. The junior game ended in regulation in an 8-8 tie, leaving the parents with a false sense of hope, only to be dashed in a lopsided shootout. All ten players were able to beat the goalie. The parents’ preparation left much to be desired in their training. It looked like the last thing they wanted was to compete in a shootout. Tristan Yang, Kerra Thornton, Harrison Stein, Petros Panomeritakis, Nick Mininson, Joshua Hom, Charlie Hinz (goalie), Samantha Duggan, Chris Cooney, Joshua Birnbaum, Emily Bosco and Justin Almonte made a formidable team. The seniors were able to settle their match within the allotted time with a decisive 6-4 victory. Christina Kerwin got things started with the players’ 1st goal. Although the veterans responded with goals by coach Rich and Jeremy, Adam’s shot to the lower corner tied things just before half-time. The players got off to a quick start in the 2nd half with goals by Andrew Abberton, Andrea Matteo, Adam (again) and coach Jimmy to ice the game. A late goal by coach Kevin and a converted penalty kick by coach Krys on a questionable call by the ref gave the veterans a chance to keep it respectable, but it was a matter of too little, too late. Super play by Stefani Egre, David Glass, Patrick Kerwin, Billy Russo, Matt Saraiva and Robert Vittiglio showed once again why the parents need to begin practicing early and often in the season if they expect to have any chance at all to compete with the more experienced players.

Thanks to all the players and families for their support throughout the year.
Great season made possible by all the coaches – Krys, Allison, Gretchen, Katie, Matt, Katrina, Brianna, Danny, Michelle, Matt, Erica, Billy, John, Jimmy, Jeremy and Greg. A big thanks to our senior coaches, Rich and Kevin, who also pitch in by helping to transport all our equipment. And a special thanks to my 2 assistant coaches, Mary Jo Bursig and Brian Evers, who help run the program all year.
We also awarded our annual Jon Ullrich Spirit Award to two most deserving young coaches. Brianna Coker and Michelle Oster received checks for $350 for their work over the years with our program. Rich Bletsch, Director
