Seniors Helping Seniors, a licensed organization that offers in-home services on Long Island providing care to seniors of all income levels, recently held their annual picnic at the Plainview/Old Bethpage Community Park.
Reema Nirola, owner of Plainview’s Seniors Helping Seniors, came to the company in 2007 with a strong organizational background. She has worked for years with physicians and hospitals and understands the critical aspects of making sure that all of her clients get their needs met, on time, with just the right amount of support and for the right budget.
The organization was founded by Kiran Yocom who had a mission and a passion to help seniors live independently. Kiran’s personal interest in seniors grew out of her work with Mother Teresa. She leads the organization through compassion and caring for all.
Nirola speaks at many organizations to help people understand how the real needs of older adults can be met and must be met. She also contributes to the community in a variety of ways.
“My work with Seniors Helping Seniors touches my heart,” said Nirola. “My goal is to make sure that every one of the people who receive our services gets their needs met, with exceptional support and love.”
“The idea of Seniors Helping Seniors is a simple, yet wonderful one,” said Nassau County Legislator Judy Jacobs, who attended the recent picnic. “The organization makes life a little easier for a senior who is looking for companionship, might need light housekeeping, cooking, etc. The interesting part is that all of the helpers are seniors themselves. The support is delivered directly to the person’s home. It is a win-win with the seniors in need receiving it from seniors who desire to be of service and the service is delivered with a smile whenever they are needed, day or night.”
