Nassau County Police Activity League – Levittown Unit
Basketball – COED, Grades K through 12. Practices begin in December. Season runs through March. Program is Monday-Friday, one or two evenings per week. Includes shirt, shorts and medals. Parents needed for coaches, assistant coaches or division commissioners. Fee: $75 (family discount – second and third child, $5 off).
Bowling – COED. Ages 4 and up. Divisions: Bumpers, Bantams, Juniors and Seniors. Fee $35 + weekly bowling fees. Bowling will be held Saturday mornings. Bumpers and Bantams $7.50 per week, Juniors and Seniors $9.50 per week. Includes: free shoes, bowling shirt, seasonal parties and trophy/medals.
Horseback Riding – 1st grade and up. Instructional riding program includes riding, tacking and horsemanship. Will be held at the Bethpage Stables, 6 half-hour, once weekly sessions to be available on selected weekday afternoons and some weekends. Four registrants per class. Fee: $180.
Karate – COED. Ages 7-18 years. Classes on Monday and Wednesday evenings at LMEC starting in October. Beginners at 5 p.m., intermediate 6 p.m. advanced 7 p.m. Fee: $50 initial + $75 every three months.
Lacrosse Fall Outdoor Clinic – COED. Grades K-6. Sundays, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (5 – three-hour sessions) at LMEC. Starts in late September and runs into early November. Children must have their own stick and mouthpiece. Shirts included. Fee: $45.
Tennis – COED. Grades 2-10. Bring racquets and sneakers (balls will be provided). Classes at Sportime, 101 Norcross Ave., Bethpage (933-8500).10 registrants to one instructor per class. Beginner classes although everyone is welcome to join. Classes on Sunday evenings at 6 p.m. Program runs for eight weekly one-hour sessions. Age groups 7-9 and10 and older. Fee: $100.
Twirling – COED. Ages 5-18 years. Levittown PAL Twirlers are currently ESTA & Star Power Grand Champions and will be competing regionally and nationally again this year as well as hosting local recitals. Classes Tuesdays, 6:15 p.m. or 7:15 p.m. One baton and T-shirt included. Fee – $50 initial + $75 every three months.

LSWAA is accepting registrations for fall baseball (7-12 years old) and flag football (second through 12th grades). Sept. 11 will be the final registration date. These programs begin Sept. 12-13. Fall baseball is played on Saturdays and flag football is played on Sundays.
