With the No. 1 draft pick and talk of a new arena on the horizon, there has been a lot of buzz surrounding the New York Islanders and the upcoming hockey season. And thanks to the Islanders’ commitment to the community and nonprofits like the American Red Cross, fans can get great discounts on tickets while contributing to a worthy cause.
Throughout the 2009-10 season, the American Red Cross in Nassau County will be selling ticket vouchers for $30 each. The vouchers can then be redeemed for tickets (valued at $60) to the weekday game of choice (with the exception of games against the NY Rangers and the home opener).
A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Nassau Red Cross and local disaster relief.
“Every year, hundreds of Long Islanders lose their homes due to disasters like house fires,” said Frank Cassano, chief executive officer of the Nassau Red Cross. “By treating yourself to a night of exciting hockey, you will be helping your neighbors sift through the ashes and get back on their feet.”
In addition to individual tickets, the Red Cross and New York Islanders are offering several sponsorship opportunities for businesses and organizations interested in securing blocks of tickets for their employees or members. Many of the opportunities include experiences like at-game recognition and meeting players.
