Pumpkin Patch Sale At Community Church Of East Williston
The Community Church of East Williston, corner of Hillside Avenue and Roslyn Road, will hold its first annual Giant Pumpkin sale on the front lawn of the church. A chance to purchase a variety of pumpkins daily starting on Oct. 18 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.. Thereafter, on weekdays from Oct. 19 to Oct. 30 you can make your purchases between the hours of 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. On Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 24 to 25 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. a chance for a barbecue lunch and purchase homemade baked goods. In addition, on Oct. 25 Fivestore will be on hand to play between the hours of 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. On Oct. 31 from noon to 4 p.m. there will be a Halloween party with lunch, costume parade and a pumpkin carving competition with judging at 4 p.m. Half the proceeds from the sales will help the Youth Group’s project Habitat for Humanity. Fall Family Fun Fest at New Hyde Park Baptist Church
From 2 to 4 p.m. the New Hyde Park Baptist Church will hold its annual Fall Family Fun Fest in the church gymnasium. All families in the community are welcome. Families with children up through sixth grade are invited to enjoy all sorts of games, crafts and prizes. The cost is $5 per child. Children will enjoy old-fashioned games like the penny pitch, bean-bag toss, croquet, and bowling as well as shooting basketballs and kicking soccer goals and more. New Hyde Park Memorial High School will hold its Annual Homecoming celebration starting with a parade on Hillside Boulevard that will wind through the streets of New Hyde Park ending at the football field. This year’s theme is entitled “Around The World” and all the floats created by each class will reflect that theme. At the halftime of the football game, the float winners will be announced, as well the names of the New Hyde Park Memorial King and Queen.

Herricks Reschedules Homecoming
Due to the construction of the Herricks High School track, and the inability to use the football field, the Herricks High School Homecoming has been rescheduled to start at 3 p.m. with a community barbecue. From 3 to 3:30 p.m. will be the presentation of the floats to parade around the high school circle and then march to the Herricks Community Center. At 4 p.m. there will be a barbecue and presentation of dignitaries, honorees, classes, clubs, etc. At 5 p.m. the Varsity football team and cheerleaders will depart for Tully Park, off Denton Avenue. At 6 p.m. a bus and car caravan will depart for Tully Park and at 7 p.m. will be the kickoff of the football came between the Herricks Highlanders vs. The Oceanside Sailors.
