Josephine Dilger passed away on Sept. 19, 2009. She was a 63-year resident of Hicksville, first on Nicholai Street and later on Ninth Street. She was born on July 1, 1909 in Wemding, Bavaria, Germany, and immigrated to the United States in 1928.
She was a member of the St. Ignatius and Our Lady of Mercy Senior Groups for over 25 years. She was the beloved mother of Gertrude Wiegand (Werner) and Rosemarie Burrafato (Joseph). She was the cherished grandmother of eight and beloved great-grandmother of 14.
A funeral Mass was held on Sept. 22 at St. Ignatius RC Church and interment was at Holy Rood Cemetery, Westbury.
