Farmingdale Rebels Make It To Finals at Discovery Cup

Congratulations to the Farmingdale Rebels for making it to the finals at the Discovery Cup Columbus weekend soccer tournament in Maryland. The team won their bracket with two wins, including a win over a Virginia team ranked higher than the Rebels in the region. They then won a semifinal match against the number four ranked team in the state of Maryland. The Rebels would play another Virginia team in the finals. However, because of injuries the team would only be able to play with ten kids on the field. It was a valiant effort as the game was scoreless after the first half. The opponent was then able to score three goals in the second half to win 3-0. The Rebels now a U16 team is currently doing tournament showcases in the fall season and will be playing in the Eastern New York Premier League in the spring of 2010.
