Fire Prevention Night

The Farmingdale Fire Department will be hosting its Annual Fire Prevention night 7 p.m. The event will showcase extinguisher demonstrations, auto accident demonstration and some first aid tips.

Free Harvest Party

Enjoy Halloween With Poetry

Bonsai Society of Greater NY

Will be hosting its Halloween Show at Suburban Water Gardens, home of the Suburban Bonsai, 211 Burrs Ln., Dix Hills, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Competition will be held for the spookiest bonsai, the scariest saikei (tray landscape) and awards for novice, intermediate and advanced bonsai artists. Turkey and Trimmings Drive

Long Islanders will be able to help the 25,000 Long Island families in need this Thanksgiving, by donating turkeys and holiday dry goods. Bethpage Federal Credit Union (Bethpage) will host a turkey and trimmings collection to benefit Island Harvest — the hunger relief organization which supplies Long Island’s community-based nonprofit organizations with critical food support. 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the front parking lot of the Bethpage Federal Credit Union headquarters, 899 South Oyster Bay Rd. There will be raffles, radio stations live remote, Knick Groove Truck, NY Islanders Bounce House and Slap Shot, face painting.

Food Drive

The Center for the Alignment of Body, Mind and Spirit, 2050 Wantagh Ave,, Wantagh, will be sponsoring a food drive from 1 to 4 p.m. All donations of non-perishable food items will be given to Long Island Cares: The Harry Chapin Food Bank. Long Island Cares provides emergency food where and when it is needed, sponsors programs that help families achieve self-sufficiency, and educates the general public about the causes and consequences of hunger on Long Island. To thank you for your donation, you will have the opportunity to meet the staff of health care professionals and receive a gift card for complimentary services, including chiropractic, acupuncture, therapeutic massage, reflexology, nutrition counseling and spiritual counseling. Senior Pops Orchestra

Military Bridge
