Bowling Fundraiser
A fundraiser for the Spc. Daniel A. Fuentes Memorial Scholarship Fund is being held from 5 to 8 p.m. at Farmingdale Lanes. Food Drive
The Center for the Alignment of Body, Mind and Spirit, 2050 Wantagh Ave,, Wantagh, will be sponsoring a food drive from 1 to 4 p.m. All donations of non-perishable food items will be given to Long Island Cares: The Harry Chapin Food Bank. Long Island Cares provides emergency food where and when it is needed, sponsors programs that help families achieve self-sufficiency, and educates the general public about the causes and consequences of hunger on Long Island. To thank you for your donation, you will have the opportunity to meet the staff of health care professionals and receive a gift card for complimentary services, including chiropractic, acupuncture, therapeutic massage, reflexology, nutrition counseling and spiritual counseling. Choral Concert
At 4 p.m. at Farmingdale United Methodist Church, 407 Main St. FUMC’s Chancel and Praise and Gospel Choirs, and their director David Majoros, will join with choirs from other Long Island Methodist churches to present Joseph A. It’s Time for You – Food for Thought
Presented by the LI Women’s Agenda. Covers the topics of emotional health for the sandwich generation, and physical health through proper nutrition in a segment called “Mind over Platter.” The speakers are: Sandra R. Wolkoff, MSW, LCSW, director of the Marks Family Right from the Start 0-3+ Center, part of North Shore Child & Family Guidance Center; and Tracy Stopler, MS, RD, registered dietician and the nutrition director at NUTRITION E.T.C. in Plainview. Military Bridge

Holiday Parade
The Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce will be presenting its annual Holiday Parade. The parade begins at noon at Northside School and features marching bands and kickline. This is an opportunity to take your holiday photo with Santa, so bring your camera.

Let Freedom Ring: A Salute to Veterans
The season opening performance of the Northwinds Symphonic Band, will be held at the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Garden City at 2:30 p.m. The concert pays tribute to all those brave Americans, past and present, who have selflessly answered the call to duty. The repertoire will include music associated with the Revolutionary and Civil Wars and the wars of the 20th and 21st century, featuring works by Aaron Copland, James Hosay, Clare Grundman and William Billings. The program will also feature patriotic American standards and the music of Broadway during times of war. Guest artists will include a vocalist and dancers who will “strut their stuff” to the Big Band Music of the ‘40s. Admission is free, and, in addition, the Cradle of Aviation museum is offering a buy one get one free admission to the exhibits on the day of the concert.
Long Island Choral Society
Presents Mozart’s Requiem, Puccini’s Gloria and Pärt’s Beatitudes.
