The Wisdom Lane seventh grade girls soccer team finished the season with four exciting victories. The Wildcats opened their season with a victory versus crosstown rival Salk Middle School 5-4 and defeated them later in the season 7-3.
The Wildcats also defeated Bethpage both times they played 4-2 and 5-2. Another exciting game was verse Woodland; the Wildcats finished with a 3-3 tie in overtime. Kristen Garcia and Stephanie Afonso led the team in these four victories with seven goals each.
Key players dominating the offense this season were Jacquelyn McCreary, Faith Ginther, Amanda Mongiardo, Melissa Pedreros, Jillian Power, Ryan Kenney and Keleyna Romoleroux. The team would not have had such a successful season without excellent defense by Erin Morris, Ellen Sioris, Breanna Gallo, Bianca Ortiz, Karina Guzman and goalie Morgan Ward.
The rest of the members of the 2009 seventh grade girls soccer team were: Jaime Attard, Cassidy Ayers, Gabrielle Coba, Amanda Costarella, Erica Montoya, Kelly Pidota, Vanessa Rubio, Christina Reilly, Ashley Rubio, Nathaly Sanchez, Paige Simone, Haley Smithwick, Madison Sorto, Angela Zhang, Krystal Robaina and Alexis Tamburello. Coach Lauren Williams would like to thank each member of the team for all the hard work they put in this season.
