Garden City Junior and Cadette Girl Scouts got together for a Healthy Eating & Lifestyle Workshop presented by dieticians Amanda Julian and Lisa Calabrese of South Nassau Hospital on Oct. 22.
The program was arranged by Ethel Simmons, president of the Central Council of Auxiliaries at South Nassau Community Hospital on invitation from Garden City Girl Scout Event Chair Dale O’Brien.
The Girl Scouts enjoyed a healthy snack and learned about making healthy food and activity choices. The plastic model food “portions” were a hit, as were the questions the girls got to ask about the lunches they had that day! They all received a healthy food card game too!

Thanks also to Garden City Girl Scout Event Chair Dale O’Brien for organizing the event for Girl Scouts and for providing the nutritious refreshments. The girls will also receive patches for participating!
