Holy Family Concerts Series

Presents An Evening of Songs and Arias presented by three of Long Island’s very own Stars of Tomorrow, Andrea Arias-Martin, soprano, Joseph Demarest, tenor, and Nicole Piccolomini, mezzo-soprano. Accompanied by Pianist Ronald F. Land. 7:30 p.m. at Holy Family Church Fordham Ave., corner of Newbridge Rd., Hicksville. Tickets are $15 adult; $10 student/senior.

Bingo For Kids

Spend an afternoon having fun with your family at a special bingo designed just for kids. At Temple Beth-El. 1373 Bellmore Rd., N. Bellmore you can play bingo for prizes such as toys and books. Admission is $5 per player. An adult must accompany the children. Adult play is optional. Bring a marker or purchase one at the event. The snack bar will be open and serving a variety of reasonably priced items such as pizza, soda and ice cream. No food can be brought with you into the temple because strict kosher food laws are observed. Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. with play beginning at noon. Group packages can be arranged with two weeks advanced notice and a 25 percent deposit. (Minimum of 8 children). At least one adult for every four children must be present. The adults do not have to play. Price is $8 per child. Includes bingo games paper for two hours of play, slice of pizza (from Hunki’s Kosher Pizza in West Hempstead), and a can of soda or water. Shopper’s Night

The Annual Shopper’s Night, sponsored by the Temple Emanu-El Sisterhood, will be held from 6:30 to 10 p.m. at Temple Emanu-el, 123 Merrick Ave., East Meadow (two blocks south off Hempstead Tpke., off the M5 exit on Meadowbrook Pky.). Engine Company #5 of the Levittown Fire Department will be holding its 20th Anniversary Holiday Wreath Sale, selling beautifully decorated 12-inch double-sided fresh wreaths for $13. Bringing together community to kick off the holiday season, the Levittown Chamber of Commerce will be holding a Holiday Tree Lighting at Veterans Memorial Park, Hempstead Tpke. and Shelter Ln. The Melody Makers of LI

A chapter of L.I.F.E. (Lowrey is Fun and Easy) will have its monthly meeting at Maestro Music and Wellness Center, 160 Center Ln., at 5 p.m. After the business meeting, there will be music played by the members as well as refreshments. The group is in the process of planning its free concert to senior citizen members of the surrounding communities. Senior Seasonal Flu Vaccination Program

Held by Nassau University Medical Center, 2201 Hempstead Tpke., East Meadow, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Dec. 15 in the NUMC auditorium.
 The NuHealth System seasonal influenza vaccination program is provided at no out-of-pocket expense for seniors 60 and older, who are urged to bring their Medicare card if they have one. Note that this program is for seasonal influenza only. H1N1 influenza (formerly known as Swine Flu) vaccine will not be offered at this program. Chanukah Toy Drive

The Sisterhood of Temple Beth-El, 1373 Bellmore Rd., North Bellmore, is collecting new unwrapped toys, stuffed animals and books for children in need. The Chanukah toy drive runs through Dec. 8. Donations can be dropped off in the “Toy Box” in the temple’s rear lobby Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. or Sunday morning between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.

•Family Support Group, an ongoing support group for those who have family members or other loved ones with mental illness. Meets on Mondays from 7 to 8 p.m. at Central Nassau Guidance & Counseling Services, 950 South Oyster Bay Rd. The fee is $5 per family.
