A Pancake Breakfast With Santa

The Garden City Park Junior Firefighters will host a Pancake Breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at fire headquarters, 2264 Jericho Turnpike, Garden City Park. Breakfast to include pancakes with maple syrup, sausage, bacon, juice, milk, coffee and tea. Donations of $6 for adults and $4 for children will benefit the Garden City Park Fire Department Junior Firefighters.

Holiday Fair & Kidz Boutique

Temple Tikvah of New Hyde Park will hold its annual Holiday Fair today and Dec.13, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A new Kidz Boutique will have a variety of reasonably priced items for children and adults to purchase. Highlights include youth and handcrafted jewelry, holiday candy, toys, books and gift items for all occasions.

New Hyde Parking Permits to Go on Sale

The resident R parking permits may be purchased beginning today at the New Hyde Park Village Clerk’s office from 8:45 a.m. through 4:15 p.m. To accommodate more residents this year, the village clerk’s office will extend their hours on Dec. 15 and remain open from 8:45 a.m. to 8 p.m. In order to obtain a parking permit, residents must present a current driver’s license and car registration that reflects their village addresss. The 2010 R parking permit must be affixed to your car by Jan. 1 to ensure compliance to village parking codes. The fee remains unchanged at $50 for the calendar year and only cash or checks can be accepted. Anyone with any questions please call the village clerk’s office at 354-0022.

Advanced Hearing Center Open House

The Advanced Hearing Center, 1163 Willis Avenue, Albertson will hold an open house from today through Dec. 11. Appointments made in advance by calling 484-0811. Participants will receive a complimentary hearing screening and consultation and a demonstration of the Widex Mind technology which plants the hearing device into the canal.

Gently Recycled Toy Sale

The Nursery of Temple Tikvah will host its first gently recycled toy, book and game sale from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Temple Tikvah is located at 3315 Hillside Ave. one block west of Herricks Road. For further information on either event please call 746-1120.

Herricks School Board to Meet at Middle School

The Herricks school board will hold its meeting at the Herricks Middle School, 7 Hilldale Drive, Albertson at 7 p.m. The board will take a break from its regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. to meet with the Middle school students. Please note this will be the only Herricks school board meeting to be held in December.

Hillside Grade School PTA Annual Holiday Boutique

Hillside Grade School PTA is holding its Annual Holiday Boutique on Dec.10th from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Hillside Grade School Gymnasium at 150 Maple Drive West in New Hyde Park. Eglevesky Ballet Nutcracker to Open at Tilles Center

The Eglevsky Ballet, based in New Hyde Park, will open its four performances of the Nutcracker at the Tilles Center. Today at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Dec. 20 at 2 p.m. and Dec. 21 at 6 p.m. Choreographed by the company’s artistic director Ali Pourfarrokh, the production is danced by the traditional Tchaikovsky score. The company is augmented by a cast of 66 of Long Island’s most talented young dance students selected through competitive auditions. Tickets for The Eglevsky Ballet’s 2009 production of Nutcracker, Saturday, December 19 through Monday, Dec. 21 at Tilles Center, are $60, $50 and $35 (seniors: $57, $47, $32).
