Tournament at St. Paul’s School in Garden City
The Nurse Practitioner Association of Long Island (NPALI) recently sponsored the Long Island Lightning Wheelchair Junior Basketball Team as they hosted a tournament at St. Paul’s School in Garden City. Physically challenged youth from New Jersey, Maryland and Pennsylvania traveled to participate in this noteworthy event.
The Long Island Lightning Junior Wheelchair Basketball Team strives to involve both male and female physically challenged youth in a program designed to provide competitive athletics and foster physical fitness. By stressing both teamwork and skill development, the Long Island Lightning Junior Wheelchair Basketball Team develops young people into active, competitive and employable adults.
The Nurse Practitioner Association of Long Island (NPALI) was founded in 1980 and is the largest chapter of the Nurse Practitioner Association of New York State with nearly 700 members. The mission of the association is to educate the public, government officials and other healthcare professionals about the varying roles of Nurse Practitioners. In addition, the association strives to provide continuing education opportunities for Nurse Practitioners that encourage high standards of practice within the profession, to provide community service and to advocate for affordable, accessible, quality healthcare delivery.
