Athletes Honored for Their Performance in the Classroom

Farmingdale High School is proud of its student-athletes not only for their performance on the field, but also their performance in the classroom.  For the fourth year in a row, every one of Farmingdale High School’s fall varsity sports teams has been recognized as a Scholar-Athlete Team by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA).  This honor is given to teams that maintain an academic average of at least 90 percent during their sport season.

Three of the teams also finished with the top ten collective GPAs in New York State.  Boys Cross Country finished seventh in the state and second on Long Island with a GPA of 97.29, Football finished third in the state and second on Long Island with a GPA of 95.521, and Girls Swimming and Diving finished second in the state and second on Long Island with a GPA of 99.039.
