Lorusso Running for Trustee; Kiley Running for Village Justice
Just hours after officially resigning from the position of Williston Park Village Justice, a position he has held for the past 15 years, Alan J. Reardon, Esq. announced that he is running for the position of mayor of The Village of Williston Park on the Citizen Party line.
Candidate Reardon has been a resident of Williston Park since 1972 and has 30 years of service to the village. He was the village justice for 15 years and a village trustee for 12 years. Prior to those offices he was a member of the village board of zoning and appeals and on the safety committee for three years.
As a village trustee he obtained the original New York State grant money for the construction of the Williston Park Village Gazebo. Further, he has sponsored little league teams for many years and has participated in Operation Santa Claus for the past 30 years.
Reardon is a member of and legal officer of Williston Park American Legion Post No. 144 and has practiced law in Nassau County for 39 years. He is a trial lawyer admitted to practice before the United Sates Supreme Court, the United States Second Circuit Court, the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York and all New York State Courts.
Plus, Reardon is a member of the New York State and Nassau County Bar Associations and the New York State and Nassau County Magistrates Associations. He is the past president of the Nassau County Magistrate’s Association and a member of the Grievance Committee for the 10th Judicial Department and a member of the Municipal Law Committee, Senior Attorneys’ Committee, the Plaintiffs’ and Defendants’ Roundtable and the Annual Awards Committee at the Nassau County, Bar Association.
Reardon is a United States Army veteran, having served for two years. He holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in history and his Juris Doctor is from St. John’s University School of Law and he also earned a master’s degree in law, LLM, from New York University.
William A. Lorusso to Run for Village Trustee
William A. Lorusso has announced that he is running for Village of Williston Park Trustee on the Citizen Party line.
Lorusso has been a resident of Williston Park since 1973. He is a Supervisory Senior Surgical Physician Assistant at North Shore/LIJ Health System.
Lorusso is a graduate of SUNY Stony Brook and has an MBA from Hofstra University. He is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and a charter member of the NYT Emergency Medical Team. He has just completed 25 years of service with United States and the New York National Guard with the rank of captain.
He has received many awards during the course of his service for leadership and excellent administration.
As a member of the Williston Park American Legion Post No. 144, he serves as Armorer and is a member of the Ceremonial Honor Guard.
Lorusso is Scout Master Emeritus of Boy Scout Troop No. 45 of the Boy Scouts of America, where he taught firearms safety and has participated in high-powered rifle and archery tournaments.
Kevin J. Kiley to Run for Williston Park Village Justice
Kevin J. Kiley, Esq., a prominent attorney with Kiley, Kiley & Kiley, PLLC, a family practice with offices in Great Neck, is seeking a full term as Williston Park Village Justice on the Citizen Party line. Kiley has served as Williston Park Acting Village Justice for two years and on the resignation of Alan J. Reardon moved up to the office of village justice.
It is anticipated that Kevin Kiley will receive the nomination of more than one party so he should appear on the ballot unopposed.
The Citizen Party state that their principles are : “Devotion to the Village of Williston Park and to make every effort to strengthen the character of the village so that it remains one of the most sought after areas to live in Nassau County.”
The Citizen Party agenda is as follows: “To operate the village in the most orderly, efficient and economic fashion with as little interference into the lives of the residents. Village government must be a friend to the people and not an adversary. No new village legislation or ordinances will be considered until full hearings are held for all concerned citizens.”
