Runners of all ages and levels of ability are cordially invited to join in the fun at the annual Runner’s Edge Winter Fun Run on Sunday morning, Feb. 28. The run is being co-hosted by the Runner’s Edge and the Greater Long Island Running Club, with Runner’s Edge CEO Bob Cook and GLIRC Fun Run Chair Sam Zinn sharing the event director’s chores.
The Run will start and finish in the Municipal Parking Lot in back of The Runner’s Edge at 242 Main Street in Farmingdale. The starting horn will go off at 9 a.m.
Runners will have their choice of doing a three-mile run, a six-mile run or a nine-mile run, followed by plenty of post race refreshments – juice, bagels, lots of hot coffee – back at The Runner’s Edge. In honor of the 20th running of this event, there will be a special Winter Sale at The Runner’s Edge, with unbelievable bargains for everyone who shows up that morning.
Participation is absolutely free, and there are no entry forms to fill out. Just show up a few minutes before 9 on the morning of the 28th, ready to run!
“We usually get over 200 runners in Farmingdale for this event,” observed GLIRC’s Sam Zinn. “So whether you run three miles at a 12 minutes per mile pace or nine miles at a six minutes per mile pace, there will be plenty of folks for you to run with!”
