Helen Joan Ianno
Helen Joan Ianno (nee VanJones), died on Feb. 6, 2010 after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was a graduate of Kings County Hospital School of Nursing and worked as a registered nurse and nursing supervisor at Brunswick Hospital for 35 years. She was a member of St. Kilian’s Mothers Club for 50 years. Wife for 56 years of John. Mother of Mary Beth (James) Cody, John (Linda) Ianno, James (Barbara) Ianno, Michael (Kelly) Ianno, Kathleen (Philip) Pappas, Chris (Thomas) Reynolds, and Maureen (Michael) Palumbo. Grandmother of James, Kristen and Brian Cody, Deidre and John Ianno, Michael and Mallory Ianno, Stephen and Jacqueline Pappas, Thomas, Tyler, Maggie, Kyle and Ryan Reynolds and Alyssa and Jenna Palumbo. Arrangements entrusted to McCourt & Trudden Funeral Home, Farmingdale. Funeral Mass was held at St. Kilian RC Church. Interment St. Charles Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Helen’s name to Ovarian Cancer Research Fund (www.ocrf.org).
