Our new County Executive Ed Mangano appointed former Judge Carnell Foskey as the new parks commissioner but is still keeping the old parks commissioner as deputy commissioner and they will each earn the same $130,625 a year salary.
This is ludicrous and a perfect example of what is wrong with government. Why do we need two high salaried people to perform the same job? Does the incoming commissioner need on-the-job training?
I am disappointed to see that Mr. Mangano seems to be ignoring his pledge to cut unnecessary spending and waste. I’d rather see the extra $130,625 invested into our parks system than doled out as wasteful patronage.
