The next scheduled Republic Airport Commission meeting, which is open to the public, is scheduled for 7 p.m. in the conference room 201 of the Main Terminal of Republic Airport, 7150 Republic Airport, East Farmingdale.

Chinese Auction

Blessing of the Riders

Farmingdale United Methodist Church, 407 Main St. (corner of Grant Ave.), will welcome the Lighthouse Harley Chapter of the Long Island Motorcycle Club at 10:45 a.m. for the annual Blessing of the Riders. Rev. Julia Y.H.Yim, Pastor, will officiate at the event, which last year drew over 100 riders and spectators. The community is invited to attend. VBS at Living Faith Christian Church

Living Faith Christian Church is having its first Vacation Bible School in its new building at 25 Hempstead Tpke., Farmingdale, from June 28 through July 2. •June 22: The Healthcare Task Force Presents: The First Annual Long Island Wellness Challenge Kick Off Event from 8 to 10:30 a.m. at the Crest Hollow Country Club, Woodbury. In partnership with the American Heart Association, ALI will honor companies that have taken a step toward wellness. Learn about health and wellness from guest speakers, Bob Nystrom and Susan Somerville. There will also be time for networking and to get to know the companies and organizations involved in the challenge.

•June 23: Transportation Task Force. There will be a report on the progress of re-opening of the LIRR station at Republic Airport, construction progress on Route 110 between the LIE and the NSP and the planned construction on Route 347; MTA takeover of Nassau and Suffolk County bus systems. 9 to 10 a.m.

•June 24: Environmental Energy. ALI will continue development and implementation of its Energy Industry Economic Initiative and work to eliminate the use of fossil fuels on Long Island and continue to grow its commercial recycling program for local businesses. The subcommittees will report. 8:30 to 10 a.m.

Earthkeepers Camp

Will be offered by Starflower Experiences in Sweet Hollow Hall, West Hills County Park, Melville, from July 5 to 9 from 8:45 a.m. Ten and 11 year olds will visit Mama Nature’s Munch Room, meet a “Spec,” dig up a buried time capsule and earn four keys to help them live in harmony with the earth and understand how the systems of life on earth operate. The keys open real locks on boxes containing secrets only Earthkeepers know. This incredibly dynamic, fun program helps young people learn about and care for the earth. Galactic Blast Vacation Bible School

Hicksville United Methodist Church, 130 W. Old Country Rd., Hicksville, invites all children to Galactic Blast: A Cosmic Adventure Praising God Vacation Bible School. Board the spaceship Galactic Praise to see the awesome universe (and God) in a whole new way. The fun begins July 26 and ends July 30 from 9 a.m. to noon. Each Galactic Mission begins with a Bible Story in the Good New Galaxy, along with science activities at the Orbital Observatory, music at Moon & Tune, art projects at Cosmic Crafts, games at Rocket Rev and a snack at the Astro Bistro. •Bingo every Monday and some Saturdays there is a Bingo Game to support the Arthritis Foundation LI Chapter.
