Hicksville’s Flahavan Wins ‘Finest/Bravest’ Award

Congratulations to longtime Hicksville runner Liz Flahavan, who was the recipient of the “Finest/Bravest” Award for having the fastest combined times of all Masters (age 40-plus) women in the June 10 David Lerner Associates Long Island Police Appreciation 5K Run and the June 20 Deputy Chief Raymond Downey Forever Running 5K Run. Flahavan ran the Police Run in 22 minutes, 29 seconds and the Downey Fireman’s Run in 22 minutes, 22 seconds. Greater Long Island Running Club Board of Directors member Paul Fetscher presented Flahavan with the honor at the Downey Run Awards Ceremony.
