The Parish of Saint James, 80 Hicksville Rd., Seaford. will be hosting its annual Carnival from July 23 to July 30 (rain date July 26). There will be rides, games, world-famous Sausage and peppers as well as the “family recipe” homemade zeppoles. There will be an opportunity to pre-purchase discount ride tickets (50 percent off) at the Parish Center through July 22 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. only (closed from noon to 1 p.m.). The Temple B’nai Torah Brotherhood will be holding its annual Flea Market, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 2900 Jerusalem Ave., Wantagh. Free admission. Galactic Blast Vacation Bible School
Hicksville United Methodist Church, 130 W. Old Country Rd., Hicksville, invites all children to Galactic Blast: A Cosmic Adventure Praising God Vacation Bible School. Board the spaceship Galactic Praise to see the awesome universe (and God) in a whole new way. The fun begins July 26 and ends July 30 from 9 a.m. to noon. Each Galactic Mission begins with a Bible Story in the Good New Galaxy, along with science activities at the Orbital Observatory, music at Moon & Tune, art projects at Cosmic Crafts, games at Rocket Rev and a snack at the Astro Bistro. International Music Nights

Outdoor Movies
Movies will be shown on the giant screen at the Lakeside Theatre in Eisenhower Park (located near parking fields 6 and 6A), East Meadow. Special accommodations are available for disabled patrons, including reserved parking, easily accessible restrooms, and a convenient reserved location on the hill. Assistive hearing devices are available for the hearing impaired. There is no formal seating at Lakeside Theatre, so moviegoers are urged to bring folding chairs. Holy Trinity Orthodox Church of East Meadow is seeking vendors for its Faith, Food & Fellowship Festival. The festival will be held outdoors, rain or shine, on Sept. 11, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Seeking vendors for crafts, toys and children’s items, fashion/clothing, green products, costume jewelry, sports merchandise, and services/demonstrations such as massage therapy and financial services. Price points should be affordable and not high-end. The fee will be $60 for a 10’ x 10’ space and $100 for a 10’ x 20‘ space. Vendors must bring their own tables and/or tents.
