Dan Roland Selected to the All Long Island Baseball Team

Oyster Bay High School senior and member of the Varsity Baseball Team, Dan Roland, was selected as one of the distinguished and elite members of the Newsday/MSG All Long Island Baseball Team. The ceremony took place on Monday, June 14 at the Tilles Center on the campus of C.W. Post.

Dan helped lead his team to four consecutive Nassau County Championships. The team won the first three championships in Class ‘C.’ This year, the Baymen moved up to Class ‘B’ and took the championship in that division.

Dan Roland finished the regular season this spring with a batting average of 554. His slugging percentage was .893. Dan racked up 13 extra base hits and 25 RBI’s. Dan had an ability to throw out runners trying to steal second from his position as catcher behind home plate.

Coach Jay Davis, recently selected as Coach of the Year, says that he believes this is the first time in OBHS history that one of our baseball players was selected for this honor.

Dan Roland will be attending St. John’s University where he will continue playing baseball.
