Jaguars Complete Woman’s Summer Adult Fast Pitch League

Under the direction of coaches, Terry Errigo Vitale, James Keenan, and Nat Corrao, the Jaguars finished with an overall record of seven wins and five losses in the Wesco Woman’s Fast pitch Softball League. Overall, they produced 107 runs and gave up 67.

Some highlights of the season include the sweep over the Kaos, a team from Plainedge loaded with collegiate players. There was a pitching duel between two decorated All Long Island pitchers. It was the Jaguars’ Isabella Corrao versus Michelle Daubman from the Kaos. In game one, Daubman struck out 10 and Corrao struck out nine. The Jaguars pulled out the 2-1 victory in the bottom of the seventh. With two outs, Kat Zabielski doubled and then Isabella Corrao blasted a triple scoring Zabielski for the win. In game two, Jaguars pitcher Stephanie Ringbauer landed in the circle picking up the 17-10 win with Kelly Ann Keenan behind the plate. Against St. Hughes, Jaguars pitcher, Stephanie Ringbauer won 15-1. Then, pitcher Risa Finn produced a 10-0 shut out.

Throughout the season, the entire team produced runs. Stephanie Ringbuaer produced a grand slam. Two run homers by Christina Lopilato, Kristie Summus, Kerri Ossenfort, Sarah Vevante, and Denise Tagariello. Isabella Corrao, Becky Seepersad, and Kelly Ann Keenan blasted triples. Kat Zabielski, Jenna Crawford, Arielle Hornedo, and Areidy Marquez Romain produced doubles. Bunts and slap hits by Samantha Vitale.  Hard hit singles, by Risa Finn and Jenna Crawford. Defensively, the Jaguars continued to improve from one game to the next. All of these young ladies made spectacular plays, cheered each other on, blended as a team, and most importantly had fun.

In the post season, a best two out of three series was played against the Kaos. The Jaguars won both behind the pitching of Isabella Corrao and the catching of Kelly Ann Keenan. In game one, the Jaguars pulled out a 12-0 win, Corrao pitched a no hitter. In game two, Isabella Corrao struck out 14 with one walk, for another no hitter and a 7-0 win with Keenan behind the plate. The entire team contributed to the run production and made some great defensive play. Unfortunately, the end of the post season was cut short due to bad weather conditions.
