Family Festival by the Sea
Ride the wave of fun and excitement into beautiful Lido Beach Town Park for the Town of Hempstead’s 28th annual Family Festival by the Sea at Lido Beach Town Park on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 25 and 26 from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Mariners and landlubbers alike will enjoy concert bands, delicious food, craft and novelty vendors, sand sculptures and an array of games and contests.
You can also satisfy your “appetite” for fun by getting a “taste” of the Clam and Rib Eating Contests on Saturday at 1 p.m. Children can sample the festival’s youthful flavor by enjoying the puppet shows, circus clowns, pony rides and petting zoo. This year’s festival will also unveil some of the biggest and bounciest inflatables ever frolicked upon.
Guests can also stroll the boardwalk to water’s edge to “dig” the sand castle contest or “race” into Sunday’s Biathlon. KJOY’s popular morning team “Steve and Peri” will be on hand Saturday to meet their fans and spin the station’s wheel of prizes.
With our beautiful Lido Beach Park as a picture perfect setting, the Family Festival celebrates our township’s storied nautical heritage. Considered one of Long Island’s signature late summer attractions, the festival offers an action-packed afternoon of family fun.

The Family Festival by the Sea is being held at Town Park Lido Beach, located at 630 Lido Blvd., just two miles west of the Loop Parkway. The festival will be open from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Admission and parking are free.
Alure Home Improvements and Optimum have climbed aboard as festival sponsors along with Swingbelly’s, Blue 42 and Landshark Restaurants. Additional support has been provided by Atlantic Nursery, Hofstra University, and PRG.
