Author Event
Award-winning author Peter Lovenheim will discuss his new book In the Neighborhood: The Search for Community on an American Street, One Sleepover at a Time. This quirky, heartfelt account of one man’s quest to meet his neighbors and find a sense of community has been purchased by Julia Roberts for an upcoming film. Journalist Lovenheim has lived on the same suburban street most of his live, but it was only after a tragedy rocked his street, that Lovenheim was struck with the idea of changing the anonymity of the contemporary neighborhood by taking the reader into the hearts, minds and homes of his neighbors. He asks the thought provoking question: do neighborhoods still matter and is something lost when we live among strangers? This book was chosen as a Barnes and Noble Great New Writers selection. All are invited for this memorable evening. 7:30 p.m. at the Woodbury Jewish Center. RSVP tooffice@woodburyjc.org.
