Petie Memorial
From Yolanda Coulaz. Some of you knew him personally, some of you know him as the cover dog from the anthology For Loving Precious Beast or from my holiday greeting cards, or perhaps you know him from the numerous times I rambled on about that beautiful boy (beautiful inside as well as out). At the end of April he became very sick very fast, and within a week’s time we discovered he had a massive brain tumor, and we had to let him go. I found my pit bull Petie (or should I say he found me) on the streets of Farmingdale covered in scars and scabs. We quickly realized that he had been used as a bait dog since he couldn’t harm another dog, cat, squirrel, etc. My husband Roy and I were blessed with his company for almost 11 years He will truly be missed. There will be a memorial poetry reading for Petie at the Lindenhurst Memorial Library at 1:30 p.m. If the weather allows it will take place outdoors and friendly pets will be welcome. This reading will also be an anniversary celebration of the anthology.
