Islanders Host 3rd Annual Charity Golf Outing

On Monday, Sept. 27, New York Islanders fans had the opportunity to play 18 holes with Islanders players, coaches and alumni on the Red Course at the Bethpage State Park Golf Course. Tee-off for the shamble-style tournament started at 1 p.m.

All of the proceeds benefited the Islanders Children’s Foundation. In the past two years, the event has raised more than $100,000, allowing the Islanders to support the local community in the areas of health, education, and youth hockey development.

Participants were treated to a gourmet buffet-style breakfast at the prestigious

Carlyle On The Green prior to tee-off. The event concluded with a reception, to include prizes for the day’s round, and an auction for several unique Islanders experiences, with all proceeds going to the Islanders Children’s Foundation. All golfers received a duffel bag filled with gifts as a memento of the day.

The Islanders Children’s Foundation is a not-for-profit foundation; dedicated to supporting other Long Island based non-profit organizations that provide opportunities to children. The Foundation works with charities that focus on health, education and amateur hockey development for Long Island children. Since its inception in 2003, the New York Islanders Children’s Foundation has raised more than $3 million to aid in the development of these types of initiatives and projects throughout Long Island.
