Residents, dignitaries and visitors packed Jericho Turnpike, from New Hyde Park Road to almost Covert Avenue, to attend another successful New Hyde Park Street Fair
The street was covered with vendors, merchants, exhibits and this year, a car show on Lakeville Road. It was a picture-perfect September day and everyone seemed to be having a marvelous time as they went from booth to booth sampling wares and picking up souvenirs, along with many of the various foods offered by the restaurants up and down the turnpike.
The New Hyde Park Fire Department had a marvelous demonstration, along with a bouncy-castle where the kids had so much fun.
This year there was a plane exhibit from the Cradle of Aviation, plus a giant shark from Long Island’s Aquarium, both very unique.
A low bow to New Hyde Park Village officials under the direction of Mayor Daniel Petruccio and to Janet Bevers, who worked very hard to make the fair such a marvelous success.
