Concert

The Aaron Goldberg Trio will present at concert at 6 p.m. in the Grace Auditorium, Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, One Bungtown Rd., Cold Spring Harbor. Boston-born, New York-based jazz pianist Aaron Goldberg began his career with piano lessons at the age of seven. While an undergraduate at Harvard College he was discovered by vocalist and first lady of jazz Betty Carter and was a founding member of her historic Jazz Ahead program. Reservations: Individual tickets will be sold at the door for $20. Students are free. Call 367-8455 to reserve seats.

Do You Love To Knit or Crochet?

New Knitting Group is forming and its first meeting will be at 1 p.m. in the Oyster Bay Library. Patterns will be supplied or bring your own. Penny Auction

The United Methodist Church is re-creating one of its iconic fundraisers, its Penny Auction which will be repeated as part of the anniversary celebration. It is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the new location, The Village Church, 9 Mountain Ave., Bayville. Because the event is primarily for fun and fellowship, the church is maintaining the traditional prices. Admission is $8 as it was in the past and includes free refreshments and 10 auction tickets. Additional tickets will be on sale 10 for $1. Friends of the Bay Lecture Series

Historian and divemaster Adam Grohman will take attendees “Down in the Sound – Diving into Long Island Sound History.” A “virtual voyage” into the maritime history of the Long Island Sound and local waters. Utilizing a “from the bottom” perspective Grohman will provide for an “in depth” dive into ship and aircraft wrecks, maritime disasters, and other interesting aspects of our local waters. Lectures are held at 2 Townsend Square (111 South St.) and begin promptly at 7:30. Free and open to the public. Donations in support of the lecture series and other programs are encouraged.

Art Walks

“First Thursdays Night On The Town” features art, food, wine, and music. Other businesses and sites in town will be displaying artwork. Local restaurants will be exhibiting art and are offering a percentage off on meals, wine tastings and more. Live music entertainment is scheduled. Cafes and restaurants will remain open late for dessert and coffee. Also on Dec. 2.
