Pobots Fundraiser
The Plainview-Old Bethpage Robotics Club, the “Pobots” will hold a video game fundraiser at POBJFKHS High School. The video game contest will include popular games such as Guitar Hero, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and Super Mario Bros. There will be raffle prizes including popular games like Call of Duty and Kirby as well as a Nintendo Wii. Food and beverages will be offered and with each ticket purchased, attendees obtain a $5 gift card to Play-N-Trade.

Woodworkers Show
Presented by the LI Woodworkers Club on Nov. 13 and 14 at Old Bethpage Village Restoration, Round Swamp Rd., Old Bethpage, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $10; $7 seniors and children 5 to 12. The show offers skillfully crafted furniture, from Mission to Modern, and a host of wood projects. Watch the chips fly as craftspeople turn domestic and exotic woods into stunning bowls, pierced works of art and sculptural masterpieces. Seminars devoted to wookworking instruction are scheduled and vendors will help you select tools that can make you a cabinetmaker or a wood hobbyist. Call the club at 631-656-5423.

5K Run and Fun Walk
Integrated Medical Foundation and ZERO – The Project to End Prostate Cancer has announced that free prostate cancer screenings will be available at the “Great Prostate Cancer Challenge, LI 5K Run and Fun Walk. Bringing together athletes, cancer survivors, caretakers, family members, physicians, corporate teams and friends, the event will prove to be a challenging course for the running enthusiast. 1863 Thanksgiving
Will be celebrated by Old Bethpage Village Restoration, Round Swamp Rd., Old Bethpage. Visitors will be able to enjoy the sights and smells of an old-fashioned Thanksgiving, as wood-burning stoves, beehive stoves, beehive ovens and hearths are used to prepare foods and baked goods made from 19th-century recipes. The culinary exhibits include the “spitting” and roasting of turkey in a tin reflector oven beside the Williams House hearth and preparation of pies at the Powell House. OBVR will also display 19th-century methods of food preservation employed for late fall crops.
