OBHS Sends 11 to the Cross Country State Meet

Coach Kevin Cotter has built an impressive legacy over the past few years with his high performing Cross Country team. Every year in recent history, Coach Cotter has sent runners to the States. This year a staggering eleven of his runners have qualified and will be competing on the weekend of Nov. 13, in Pawling, New York.

The team is lead by Oyster Bay High School Senior, Joe LaCorte, who is making his fourth trip to the States. Junior Steven Tortora is making his third appearance this year. Senior Chris Kulis is competing at the State level for the second time. Rounding out the field on the Boys team are Sophomore TJ Butler, Junior Daniel Eng, Senior Andrew Kern, and Junior Nick Mavros.

The Girls team is sending four runners to the States. Juniors Lauren Burke and Brooke Mahoski are both making their second run at the States. Freshman Nicole Giannetti competing at the State level for the first time. Remarkably, eighth grader Linda Cameron qualified to compete in the States and will be traveling with the team to Pawling as well.
