Bus Stop
Presented by the Nassau Community College Department of Theatre and Dance. Written by William Inge, Bus Stop is set in a diner about 30 miles west of Kansas City in March 1955. A freak snowstorm has halted the progress of their bus, and the play’s eight characters have a weather-enforced layover in Grace’s diner. Cherie has been trying to lose the callow cowboy who wants nothing more than to lasso her and take his prize home to Montana. There are complications aplenty when the bus driver makes a play for the proprietor and a professor takes aim at a waitress who is much too young for him. Performances Dec. 17, 18 at 8 p.m.; Dec. 19 at 3 p.m. at the Mainstage Theatre at NCC. Tickets $9 a person; $7 seniors 55 and over; free for current college students requesting rush tickets.
