Brigham Young University announced that starting forward Brandon Davies is to be suspended for the remainder of the season for breaking the schools honor code.
Davies, 19, violated the schools honor code which states that students must “live a chaste and virtuous life.” Davies was suspended for having premarital sex with his girlfriend.
Davies is still a fully enrolled student with the university, but will be suspended from the basketball team for the remainder of the season.
Brigham Young University spokeswoman Carri Jenkins reportedly said that the Honor Code Office is reviewing the situation and is to determine Davies’ future at the school.
