Congratulations to two Garden City High School lacrosse players for being selected as the United States delegates to the U-19 Women’s Lacrosse travel team. The girls will represent the U.S. this summer in Germany. Only 16 field players and two goalkeepers were chosen for the team. Pictured here are (left to right) Girls Varsity Lacrosse Coach Diane Chapman, players Barbara Sullivan and Mikaela Rix, Director of Athletics and Physical Education Nancy Kalafus and Garden City High School Principal Nanine Cuttitta. “It is quite an honor for two of our GC senior girls to be named to the USA Women’s Lacrosse team,” commented Ms. Kalafus. “It shows that dreams and hard work really do pay off. We are so proud of them!” For more information, please visit: http://www.uslacrosse.org/TopNav/NationalTeams/WomensU19Team.aspx.
