Nick Rodriguez and Cameron Beale, both from Hicksville, recently attended the U.S. Youth Soccer Association Region 1 friendly matches in Williamsburg, VA on Feb. 25-27. Nick and Cameron were among 24 players from the New York State South team who participated in these friendly games against North Carolina, Maryland and Connecticut.
The New York State team lost two matches and won one match. Nick Rodriguez allowed only two goals during the weekend and Cameron Beale had a key assist in the win over Connecticut. Both Nick and Cameron will be vying for a spot on the Region 1 soccer team in which a large pool from players from Maine to North Carolina will be selected. The ENYYSA ODP Program is designed to identify players in each age group from which Regional and U.S. National team players will be selected.
This is Nick’s second year with the State team and Cameron’s first. Teammates, coaches and trainers wish Nick and Cameron the very best.
