Man Brings Beer to DWI Hearing

Tardy, intoxicated, and guzzling an open can of Busch beer is not the right way to show up to a DWI hearing however, upstate New Yorker Keith Gruber (who not surprisingly has prior DWI convictions) was over an hour late for the 10:30 a.m. hearing.

Gruber tried to get rid of his open beer car before strolling into court, but authorities caught him and found four more unopened cans of beer in his bag.

The Middletown Times Herald-Records reported that Judge LaBuda asked Gruber if he was enjoying his “liquid lunch” to which Gruber replied that although he did enjoy his liquid lunch he was sorry.

Gruber had been out on $30,000 bail from his arrest on December 27 in the town of Liberty, and LaBuda instantly revoked his bail and sent him to jail.
