The Hicksville Public School District is proud to announce that student-athlete and Hicksville High School senior Allison McNamara has been named a News 12 Long Island/Citibank Scholar Athlete. This award recognizes a student-athlete’s significant achievements in the classroom, as well as on the playing field.
Allison is captain of the girls’ varsity softball team and currently ranks first in her class of 390 students. She carries a scholastic un-weighted average of 100.36. Allison is a member of the National Honor Society, as well as the Science, English, Spanish and Math Honor Societies.
Outside of the classroom, Allison volunteers her time with the Hicksville Booster Club and New York Blood Services. In addition, she is a member of Athletes Helping Athletes and the Long Island Soccer Referees Association. “Allison is a strong leader and role model for all her teammates and classmates,” Softball Coach Mr. Hinnerschietz stated. “She insists on becoming the very best in all her activities – whether in games, practices, or in the classroom. She excels to become the best she can be.”
