In a good old fashioned slug-fest, the mighty Mariners held off a late inning Reds rally to secure their fifth win of the season. Dominick Picirrillo, Jimmy Denara, James Castaldi and Harrison Nettler each had two singles, Michael Zuschlag launched a long double to knock in two runs and John Denara laced a triple down the left-field line to bring in a run. Speedster Parth Patel reached base twice and swiped three stolen bases and Brandon Knupfer reached base and stole one of his own. With the game on the line, closer Andrew Colgan shut the door by striking out two in the final inning.
Notre Dame CYO Padres vs. Newman Orthodontics Braves
It was an exciting game between two great teams. Leading the offense for the Braves was Edward Mauceri, Jimmy Weedon, Ryan Wasserman, Ben Goodwin & Stephen Lopez with 4 hits each. Joseph Vieni, Matthew Heimowitz, Matthew Bloom & Jaden Weisser had 3 hits each. Eli Goodwin & Kenny Hirschfeld contributed with 2 hits each. Leading the defensive for the Braves was Ryan, Jimmy & Kenny . Duhan Lee made a great play on a hot grounder and then made a perfect throw just in time to beat a fast runner. A great all around team effort.
Robert J Kurre & Associates, PC Dodgers vs. Chico’s Bail Bonds Cubs
Another chilly Friday night game for the Dodgers. The Cubs were a great opponent and played a tough game. Our Dodgers toughed out the cold weather and also played well. Matt Rubinic and Stephen Bracco both went 4-4 and combined for 6 RBI’s. James Asmus and Luke Gruosso combined for 5 runs for the first time this year. Thomas and Matt Rubinic took turns at catcher for the first time and performed fantastic at the position. We can really see improvement in the team as theseason presses on. Great game Dodgers!
Cellini Lodge Diamondbacks vs. Costello Ace Hardware Rockies
Although the game was threatened by April showers, the Diamondbacks were able to get an official game in. The pitching continues to marvel the coaches. After getting into a first inning jam, Christopher Bruccoleri was able to hold the Rockies to only three runs and pitch a scoreless second. Cenzo Montoni and Mathew Merolla extended their scoreless innings streak to 3 each and are developing their arm strength in the hope that they may be able to throw 2 innings per game in the future. Timely hitting by Aj Devito, Nickolas Levkolic and productive outs by Daniel Mattei and Mathew Castelli, helped tie the game in the third. With bases loaded and the winning run at third, Daniel Son demonstrated hiskeen eye with a walk off walk. The Diamondbacks extended their winningstreak to two games and are looking forward to playing the undefeated Rangers next week.
Merillon Atheletics vs. the Dr. Margaret Zadnik DDS Nationals
Game 4 held at Manor Oaks, field 2 was a terrific example of Nationals baseball. Jack Kareff, Jackson Benjamin and Jon Ziebitsch went 3 for 3 to lead the way as the Nationals scored 17 times. Daniel Reilly, Jack Knupfer and James Prado drove in 2 runs a piece and with Jonathan Grenard’s 4 for 4 night the team kept up its torrid pace. Defensively the team made strides as well, fielding players in rotation to give everyone a chance to show their gloves. Erik Lyngstad-Hughes and Michael Frising put in quality time at short while Cooper Alwadish continued to field an impressive first base. Cudos to Ben Bidner, William Rho and Jonathan Grenard for calling a great game from behind the plate. Keep up the great baseball Nationals!

On a cool and windy Thursday night both teams came out to play. Leading the way with 4 hits each Giuseppe Seidita, Michael Campagnoulo and Nick Marsella with a booming double. With 3 hits each Justin Marsella, Attilio Lamoretti and Eli Goldberger. With a couple of hits each Christian Sikiric,Christopher Zovko and Stellios Bizekis. Great defense as always by the boys. Let’s Go Padres.

After a tough first inning in which they gave up 6 runs, the Hand Rolled Bagels Reds played some good ball and actually outscored their opponents the rest of the way. Leading the charge were breakout performances by Mike Mellone and Anthony DePompeis. Michael Mellone followed-up on pre-game batting practice promise by clubbing a triple and adouble to drive in multiple runs. Anthony pitched two standout innings and showed soft hands at first base. Nicholas Femia pitched impressively again, Matthew Baronci and Raymond Gresalfilogged good, steady innings behind the plate and Dylan Kareff made a fine defensive play at shortstop, snagging a grounder and throwing out a speedy runner by a whisker. Michael Rose picked up the first steal sign of the season as his heads-up play continued. The depth of Merillon’s farm system was on display again, as call-ups Peter Carreca and Alex Banks made solid contributions. Peter made an outstanding running catch in center field to save a double or worse and drew a walk to ignite a Reds rally. Alex also drew a free pass and came around to score.
