Obituary: David E. Gerard

David Edward Gerard, 82 of Vero Beach, FL, died on May 2, 2011. Born in Oyster Bay on April 17, 1929, he was a fulltime resident of Oyster Bay and East Norwich for 70 years. He is survived by wife of 53 years, Alice Noble; children, David (Mary), Kathleen Taddonio (Richard) and Robert (Judith); grandchildren, Richard, Kelly Ann, Heather, Caroline, John, Alexandra, Ryan; and brother Ronald. He was predeceased by parents Anthony B. and Doris and stepsister Joan Stockel. He retired as detective of the Nassau County Police Dept with 35 years of service. He was a 55-year member of the St. Dominic’s ushers and a life member of Knights of Columbus Council 1206 in Oyster Bay. He had a great run with the love of his life, Alice.
