Pool Applications Have Been Mailed

The 2011 Garden City Pool applications have been mailed. If you did not receive one, you can go to Gardencityrecreation.org and get all the pool information and download the 2011 membership application and the 2011 swim lesson registration form or visit the Recreation Office at 108 Rockaway Ave. Don’t delay, get your application in to guarantee your membership for another season of “Fun in the Sun!”

Garden City Community Garden Under Construction

If you are interested in growing your very own herbs and vegetables, consider signing up for one of the 20 plots currently being prepared by our Recreation Staff at the St. Paul’s Recreation Complex. Irrigation will be available and residents will be responsible for providing proper maintenance of their assigned plots. Families, groups, or individuals are invited to submit their applications beginning Monday, May 16. Applications must be received by Friday, May 20 at 4 p.m. in order to be considered. Applications will then be picked and plots will be assigned by lottery the following week. Applications will be available at the Recreation Office at 108 Rockaway Ave.

Summer Camp Brochures Are Out and Registration Has Begun!

The 2011 Summer Camp Brochure is now available, listing a wide variety of activities and sport camps for ages 3–16. Registration has begun, by mail only, for all camps. If you do not receive one in your child’s backpack, visit the recreation website at www.gardencityrecreation.org or visit the office at 108 Rockaway Ave. to pick one up. There are too many offerings to list, so don’t miss out and register early.

 Miniature Golf at Community Park

The Community Park Miniature Golf Course is now open.

If you are planning a birthday party, a group outing or just looking to get together with family, friends or coworkers, why not miniature golf at Community Park. We have a new state of the art golf course with twists and turns to excite players of all ages! We offer a beautiful setting with a shaded picnic area, a playground and a snack bar. But most of all, it is a reasonably-priced, full of fun outing that is enjoyed by everyone. So come on over and let the games begin!

We are now booking parties for the 2011 season.

Spring/Summer Adult Tennis Lessons Registration Begins

The Garden City Recreation Department will conduct evening tennis lessons for adults who are residents of the Inc. Village of Garden City at the Community Park Tennis Facility. The lessons will run for one hour each week in three sessions during the spring/summer months. The registrant has a choice of a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday class and a choice of time. There will be a maximum of four players per court. The dates and fees will be as follows:

Session 1 – 6 weeks beginning May 2 Cost: $150

Session 2 – 4 weeks beginning July 5 Cost: $100

Session 3 – 4 weeks beginning Aug. 2 Cost: $100
