Lee DeWyze Shuns American Idol Scotty McCreery?

lee dewyze american idolNigel Lythgoe wrote on his Twitter Thursday that former last year’s American Idol season 9 winner Lee DeWyze turned down an offer to appear on Wednesday night’s season 10 American Idol finale.
“I was so upset Lee DeWyze wouldn’t present the winners trophy to Scotty. Especially as he’d been on the show this Season. I guess he was shy,” Lythgoe wrote.
DeWyze was in the audience for Wednesday night’s finale in the fifth row and Ryan Seacrest, who tends to point out every recognizable face in the audience, didn’t even mention him.
Apparently, Lythgoe asked DeWyze not just to attend the American Idol finale, but to help crown the new American Idol, which would later turn out to be Scotty McCreery.

Because DeWyze refused, it was judge Jennifer Lopez who gave Scotty his trophy.

DeWyze had formerly announced on his Twitter that he wasn’t asked to perform on the Idol finale.
So, maybe that is the reason DeWyze turned down the offer to crown the new Idol. And maybe DeWyze’s turn down of Lythgoe’s offer was the reason he was thrown in the fifth row. But those are all just maybes. Back to the real American Idol question:
Are Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina dating? Is Scotty  singing “Baby lock the door and turn the lights down low…” in her ear off stage?
Because they certainly had viewers asking the question last night after sharing a few onstage kisses…
Update:
Lee DeWyze cleared the air via Twitter about all the rumors surrounding his American Idol finale appearance with the following:

“Hey everyone, first off I want to say congrats to Scotty & Lauren, awesome job. Well done Scotty! Secondly, just for the record… I was not asked to be involved in the Finale. It wasn’t until about 2 minutes before they announced that Nigel had approached me and asked if he could “borrow” me for a second. I didnt feel a last second jump on stage was appropriate. It was Scotty’s moment.I appreciate American Idol, and the opportunity it has given me. And the people who have made that show possible. I am not angry, or bitter etc. It was an amazing Finale, and I would have loved to be a part of it. I just wasnt asked.Good luck to all the Contestants and stay true to yourself. Thanks everyone for your support, tour coming up… Good times 🙂 I’ll talk to you all soon. Love ya!”
